In identifying faith development as a primary goal, we want to ensure that worship, church school, and adult study remain important priorities. At the same time, we will encourage new and meaningful initiatives to deepen our faith that:
• are inspirational & comforting
• are instructional & challenging
• inform, direct and shape daily life
• foster community spirit
• broaden and deepen knowledge.
Our music goal is to continue to develop a music program which enriches Sunday worship, deepens faith and encourages participation by people of all ages. This will be done by:
• continuing to employ a salaried music director with skills to work with children, youth and adults
• developing opportunities for people of all ages and talents to share their vocal and/or instrumental skills.
Living our faith will be achieved by providing the people of Royal York Road with assorted opportunities to be Christ’s hands and feet in the world. This will be done by:
• encouraging everyone in the congregation to identify at least one area of ministry or service in which they will actively engage
• creating one large, outreach project per year in which all of us can participate
Membership development is a key priority. We will focus on:
• reconnecting with fringe members
• welcoming new members
• helping people find a supportive and nurturing community within the congregation.
These four pillars will be the focal point of church life over the next three years. All committees have been asked to spearhead initiatives that will help bring these goals to life. Together, we believe that Royal York Road can become an even more vibrant and life-giving community of faith.
