The Pastoral Care Committee and Turner and Porter Funeral Homes provide two excellent speakers on the topic of Children and Grief, Dr. Leslie Balmer, Ph.D, clinical psychology and Andrea Warnick, R.N.

This practical workshop will identify new strategies for assisting children faced with the impending or actual death of a loved one. Strategies for supporting children experiencing other types of loss such as divorce, moving, and pet death will also be explored. Participants will gain knowledge about how best to help children as they embark on this important journey from a place of devastation and loss to one of potential growth and transformation.

This workshop is appropriate for health care providers, volunteers, caregivers, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles - any adult who comes into contact with a grieving child.
