The governance of Royal York Road United follows the Church Council model. Council meetings are held on the second Tuesday evening of the month (except July and August). Council members are those who chair a wide variety of committees including Financial Stewardship, Communications, Property Management, New Members, Music, Christian Development, Fellowship, Outreach, Pastoral Care, Ministry & Personnel, Membership Records, Future Directions &Visioning, Worship, Worship Support, Volunteer Leadership and Board of Trustees. Rounding out the Council are a chair, vice-chair, past chair, secretary, treasurer, staff meeting representative, United Church Women representative and Presbytery representatives. The Ministers also serve on Council.
The leaders of all these committees are dedicated members of the congregation who manage their portfolios with the advice and guidance of committee members and share their views on wider issues at Council meetings. Committees are open to anyone interested in contributing to the life and well being of the church.
