We are fortunate at Royal York Road to have an ongoing influx of new people who, for a variety of reasons, are thinking about making this their Church family.
There are two ways to become an official member of the United Church of Canada and thus, a member of Royal York Road. If you have recently been an active member of another congregation, we can ask that Church, whether it be United or another denomination to transfer your membership to Royal York Road. Or, if you have never been a member of a Church or if your membership has lapsed, we ask you to reaffirm the faith proclaimed in your baptism.
We always look forward to welcoming new members who bring new energy and ideas and we try our best to offer support and Christian hospitality to all of our members, new and long-time. We also must be honest that we rely on all of our members for support for the ongoing ministry of our congregation. Your gifts of time, talent and financial resources are what enable us to reach out to those within our walls and beyond.
We invite those who are interested in becoming members of our congregation to join us for a luncheon immediately after worship on Sunday October 30th so we can talk with an interested group about our congregation, what we have to offer and to answer any questions you might have. You can indicate a desire to be part of our congregation by filling out a pew card or by contacting the church office at 416 231-9401. Once your name is approved for membership at our November 8th Church Council meeting, a mentor will be appointed for you as you are welcomed into our congregation on Sunday, November 20th.
If you have been worshipping with us and feel this is where you would like to live out your faith, we look forward to hearing from you.
