Royal York Road United is a welcoming church that enjoys getting to know visitors and newcomers while treasuring the wisdom offered by more longstanding members.
Our church is a joy-filled place full of volunteers determined to live in concert with Christ’s message of love. Our minister, music director, office administrator and custodians work together to provide grace and warmth for the soul and the body. Our immaculate building is wheelchair accessible.
Children and babies are special gifts and we encourage their attendance during worship. The north transept of the sanctuary is set-up for families with very young children; the floor is carpeted and there are books and soft toys to entertain the little ones. A fully equipped nursery is a comfortable place for parents if they wish to take their babies out of the sanctuary. Our cherub and junior choirs offer their gifts of music regularly and always make God’s message a little more special.
Recently, members of the congregation were asked what they see as Royal York Road United’s future. As a result, in early 2010 the Church Council identified four goals to guide us during the next three years. These goals, or “pillars” as we’ve agreed to call them, will shape our today and tomorrows. They are:
- Faith Development
- Music
- Living Our Faith
- Membership Development
Over the next year our various committees and groups will spearhead initiatives in each of these areas. At the same time, everyone in the church is encouraged to offer their ideas about how these goals can be realized. Detail - the 4 pillars
Royal York Road United Church is governed by a Church Council, a body of lay leaders and ministers that oversees the day by day operation of the church.
This is a church in which everyone is welcomed, everyone is of value and everyone can play a role to make a difference in God’s kingdom.
